Obaseki's Camp Reacts As INEC Recognises Orbih's PDP Faction

The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki was on Saturday booed by a crowd of youths with chants of ‘thief’ as he visited the palace of the Oba of Benin.

Obaseki, who is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was at the Palace of the Oba of Benin on Saturday morning to receive royal blessings as he kicked off his campaign to return for a second term in office.

However, some youths who were part of the crowd gathered in front of the palace had other plans as they chanted and booed the Governor’s convoy as they approached the palace.

The angry youths were seen and heard chanting ‘thief’ and other angry statements as the convoy approached the palace.

Naija News reports Obaseki who is the incumbent Governor of Edo State will slug it out with Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other candidates in the September 19 governorship election in the state.
