The World Health Organisation’s technical lead on the Covid-19 pandemic, Dr Maria Van Kerkhove has released a new revelation about asymptomatic patients.
Dr Kerkhove said that the asymptomatic COVID-19 patient does not necessarily need to be isolated nor quarantined because they cannot even transmit the virus to another person.

“From the data we have, it seems that an asymptomatic patient cannot transmit from one person to another.
However, the World Health Organisation (WHO) head, Tedros Ghebreyesus, said the worst is yet to come as over 10 million people have been infected and more than 500,000 have died from the virus in the world
Meanwhile, in Nigeria, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has urged residents in the state not to give in to fear of dreaded Coronavirus pandemic.
According to Governor Bello, the disease which has affected people’s way of life since its outbreak was imported from abroad, propagated and forced on citizens for no reason.
Naija News understands that the latest details from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, shows that Nigeria recorded five hundred and sixty-one confirmed new cases of COVID-19 pandemic in the sub-Saharan country.
The new detail brings the overall confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria to 25,694. As at the time this report was given, 9746 persons have been discharged from the novel virus after testing negative while 590 people reportedly died of related disease.
