Kogi: Gov Bello Sacks Commissioner, Two Others

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has urged residents in the state not to give in to fear of dreaded Coronavirus pandemic.

According to Governor Bello, the disease which has affected people’s way of life since its outbreak was imported from abroad, propagated and forced on citizens for no reason.

The incumbent Kogi governor said this while speaking at the burial of Justice Nasir Ajana, the late Chief Judge of the State.

Naija News understands that the Chief Judge died on Sunday, June 28 in the Gwagwalada COVID-19 isolation centre.

However, Bello argued claims by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC on the cause of the death of the state Ajana. According to him, the deceased had died a natural death.

The governor while speaking at the third-day prayers for the deceased on Tuesday, urged residents in the state not to attribute Ajana’s death to anything else.

He said, “Don’t give in to fear and evil of the issues of COVID-19; it is a disease that has been imported, propagated and forced on the people for no just cause.”

Bello prayed that Allah would grant the deceased Aljanah Fridau, describing Ajana as a dedicated man and a lover of peace.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has on Tuesday, reported five hundred and sixty-one confirmed new cases of Coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria.
