‘We Are Now Free Of Coronavirus’ – Mauritius’s Minister Declares

Mauritius, an African country on the Indian Ocean Island, has announced in a statement by its minister of health that it is now free of the Coronavirus global pandemic.

According to the report, the country has record no new case of COVID-19 in the past fifteen days.

Naija News understands that the overall confirmed cases of COVID-19 recorded in Mauritius were 332, out of which  322 persons have been discharged, while 10 other died of the deadly virus.

However, despite recording no new cases of the dreadful virus since ending of April 2020, the country’s government has stated that restriction of movement is still in place in other to contain any possible spread of the virus.

The development now made Mauritius the second African country to have record victory in battling COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Naija News has reported that All 425 health facilities belonging to the Catholic faith across the country have been donated as isolation centres for COVID-19 by the Catholic Bishop Conference of Nigeria (CBCN).
