Luck ran out of some women on Sunday, May 3 during a worship session in a popular church in Abuja, as the FCT COVID-19 lockdown and social distancing enforcement team arrested a number of them during an invasion.
Naija News learnt that some members of the Shekinah Glory Church in Abuja were on Sunday arrested during a service which hosts a large number of people without observing social distancing despite warnings.
According to the report, the presiding Pastor of the Church located in Jabi area in Abuja, alongside his deacons and others jumped through the Church fence to escape arrest from the COVID-19 law enforcement team.
The invade occurred after a report reached the COVID-19 law enforcement chairman that the church is holding a full service despite warnings that such should not happen at this time as part of the precaution against the spread of Coronavirus pandemic.
Chairman of the team, Ikharo Attah, upon receiving the information, reportedly mobilised his team to the area.
According to Attah, the event was a clear contravention of the ban on religious gatherings in the capital city of Nigeria.
He said, “the pastor and deacons on sighting the team, jumped the fence and disappeared.”

He, however, noted that the team is on the lookout for the Pastor and his Deacons that fled the arrest would be arrested and made to face the law for violating orders, endangering the lives of his congregations.
