'Kano Electorate' Demand Return Of Sanusi Lamido As Emir Of Kano

The dethroned Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has departed the Nasarawa residence where he is being held in exile after he was deposed on Monday by the Kano State government.

According to information gathered by Naija News, he was airlifted in a helicopter on Tuesday afternoon. Initially, no word was given about where he was being taken or circumstances surrounding his movement.

He was moved amidst heavy security.

Subsequent information obtained by our correspondent has it that the deposed Emir has now being moved to Awe, a town located in the Nasarawa South Senatorial district of the state.

He was initially sent on exile to Loko, also a town in Nasarawa State.

As earlier reported by this online medium, the dethroned Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi Lamido II, arrived Loko, a town in Nasarawa State around 3am in the early hours of Tuesday.

His arrival was confirmed by the traditional ruler of Loko, Abubakar Ahmed Sabo, who noted that Sanusi arrived at his palace at 3 a.m. on Tuesday.

“Yes, Emir Sanusi is in my palace. He arrived this morning around 3 a.m., but no one will be allowed to speak with him,” he said.

This online medium recalls that Sanusi was removed on Monday as the Emir of Kano by the Kano State Government under the leadership of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

The state government accused the dethroned Emir of gross insubordination and disregard for constituted authority.
