Lagos State Okada Ban

Following cries by Lagos State residents over the difficulty experienced in their daily transportations after Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu ban on Okada riders in the state, the governor in a bid to ease the transportation has kickstarted a fresh programme called the Lagos State Ferry operation (LAGFERRY).

Naija News recalls that Sanwo-Olu has vowed that his administration’s decision to the ban on motorcycles users, Keke NAPEPs can not be revoked.

The governor while speaking during the inauguration of the LAGFERRY operations reiterates that the life of the people is paramount to his administration.

Naija News also understands that Sanwo-Olu provisioned 14 commercial boats at Badore Ferry Terminal, Ajah, with the commissioning of a mobile app to aide the transportation.

The governor said, “As a responsible government, we will not fold our arms and allow any security breach in the state.”
“We will continue to ensure the safety of our people on all fronts. There have been reports of serious security breaches and safety concerns in areas where these operators ply. We had to respond to these concerns because of life and safety matter to this government”.

However, this media platform understands that the ban on the use of motorcycles and tricycles in the state has been widely condemned by many residents of the state.
