Queen Elizabeth’s Retirement Date Announced

After about 67 years of reign as the Supreme monarch of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms, Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor will be retiring in 18 months’ for Charles to become Prince Regent.

Naija News understands that the queen will turn 95 in 18 months – the same age at which her husband Prince Philip withdrew from his public duties.

The Queen is currently regarded not only in the UK but also abroad as well as by nearly everyone in the English speaking world as an institution and a larger-than-life figure.

She had been the focus of countless documentaries and fictional films and television shows based on her life. Some of the latest being the 2006 film The Queen and the 2016 Netflix show The Crown.
