The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, says he is “traversing the civilized world, ramping up the diplomatic outreach that will compel” a referendum for the Republic of Biafra.

Naija News reports that the secessionist leader made this known on the micro-blogging site, Twitter, on Monday, June 17.

Kanu, who had said on May 16, during what he tagged a “live global address,” that he will not stop agitating for the Republic of  Biafra and that the “enemies of Biafra” cannot stop the ongoing agitation, urged all Biafrans to keep faith that a Biafra Republic will emerge.

The IPOB leader tweeted: “As Jubril, his cabal, his herdsmen, his terrorists, and jihadists ramp up on their end-stage jihadist subjugation of Nigeria, I’m traversing the civilized world, ramping up the diplomatic outreach that will compel a #Biafran Referendum. I urge ALL Biafrans to keep faith.”

Meanwhile, Naija News reports that Kanu is leading a group seeking secession from Nigeria. The group has since been proscribed by the Nigerian government led by President Muhammadu Buhari.
