Taraba INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner Dies

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Resident Electoral Commission, REC, in Sokoto State, Abubakar Sadiq, has declared what he would do if he is forced to rig the results of the election in his state on Saturday.

Sadiq said he would rather resign his appointment rather than be forced to change the outcome of the elections.

Speaking during a stakeholders’ meeting in Sokoto on Wednesday, Sadiq said he was ready to conduct a free and fair election in the state, warning that nobody can force him to alter the results of the elections.

He said, “I will resign and I will tell the world why I am resigning. My job here is to do the bidding of the entire people of Sokoto state not a particular individual.”

He also appealed to security agencies to remain committed to the election because there were some security challenges recorded in parts of the state during the presidential and National Assembly elections.
