FEC Approves Price Slash For NECO, JAMB Exam Registration

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has during its meeting on Wednesday, approved the reduction in the exam fees for JAMB and NECO.

The slash in examination registration fees for the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), National Examination Council and the Basic Education Certificate was disclosed by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu at the end of the FEC meeting.

According to him, the JAMB fee for the UTME will reduce from ₦5,000 to ₦3,500, the Senior Secondary School fee charge by NECO will reduce from N11,350 to ₦9,850 and the Basic Education certificate by NECO will reduce from ₦5,500 to ₦4,000.

The new fee regime would however be effective as from January, 2019 according to the education minister.
