Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto Resigns As Deputy Governor Of Sokoto State

The deputy Governor of Sokoto state, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto has resigned his appointment.

Naija News learnt that Ahmed who is the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2019 Sokoto governorship election tendered his resignation letter to the state House of Assembly on Tuesday, November 13, 2018.

The letter was however not read on the floor until Wednesday’s sitting.

No reason was however given in the letter for his resignation.

While there’s a possibility that he’ll have to face Tambuwal at the polls next year, a source disclosed that Ahmed did not resign because he was having problems with the governor.

It was also gathered that the sudden resignation might not be unconnected with unforeseen circumstances that might crop up in the build-up of the forthcoming governorship election in the state as Governor Tambuwal is still widely expected to also contest for the Sokoto governorship seat.
