Danai Gurira Wins The People’s Choice Awards Action Movie Star Of 2018

Black Panther superstar, Danai Gurira, yesterday won an award at the 2018 People’s Choice Awards.

Gurira, emerged the winner of the Action Movie Star of 2018 at the People’s Choice Awards. She was presented the award for her performance as Okoye in Black Panther.

Gurira, while being presented the award, the actress spoke about being a woman in a male dominated category, “Thank you for affirming that women and girls when they are given the chance to hang with the boys, can hang with the best of them. Thank you!”

In Black Panther, Gurira (as Okoye) leads the Dora Milaje, a militant order which protects the King of Wakanda, and one of T’Challa’s (Boseman) closest advisers.

Other stars nominated for the same category include Chadwick Boseman, Chris Hemsworth Ryan Reynolds, Chris Pratt.
