Ghana To Receive Kofi Annan Remains For Funeral

The remains of former United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan will be received in Ghana on Monday, for the commencement of the three-day state funeral put together by the government of Ghana.

Citinewsroom report that Kofi Annan Family in consultation with  Funeral Committee of the former General Secretary of the UN gave details of his burial in Accra.

Naija News recall that the 7th Secretary General of the UN passed on in Switzerland after a brief illness on the 18th August, 2018.

Ghana’s Information Minister-designate, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah, while addressing the Press, stated that the remains of the icon will arrive on September 10 accompanied by his widow Nane Maria Annan, children, and some officials from the UN.

He added that Ghana Armed forces and the President of the Republic, Nana Akufo-Addo will receive the former UN boss remains before it is conveyed to the Accra International Conference Centre.

Annan’s body will be laid to rest on Thursday.
