Buhari Orders Repatriation Of Nigerians Stranded In Russia

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama and Minister of State for Aviation, Hadi Sirika have been ordered by President Muhammadu Buhari to start the process of repatriating Nigerians who travelled to Russia for the 2018 FIFA World Cup and got stranded in the country after the competition.

This directive is according to the statement made available to newsmen by Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity.

The Nation reports that unscrupulous travel agents had left the stranded fans to their fate by cancelling their return ticket after the competition ended.

The Process of repatriating the stranded fans have been set in motion by the Minister in compliance with the order of the President.

This Directive is in line with the current administration’s policy to ensure the welfare of Nigerians in every part of the world.
