2. Mimiko rejoins Labour party after dumping PDP

The former Ondo State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, has been welcomed back to the Labour Party after his decision to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Mimiko has been presented a membership card of the Labour Party by the leadership in the state on Thursday amid cheering supporters.

3. Mother of Boko Haram leader, Shekau speaks on son’s whereabout

Mother of Shekau, Falmata Abubakar in an interview with Hausa Service of the Voice of America, VOA, in the village of Shekau, Yobe state spoke on what she knows about her son’s whereabouts.

Nigerian army claims repeatedly to have killed Boko Haram leader, Shekau Abubakar, attacks and operations of the sect has since continued in the country.

4. Ekiti assembly suspends member for sleeping on duty

Ekiti State House of Assembly has suspended indefinitely its recently impeached Chief Whip, Mr Akinniyi Sunday, who represents Ikere Constituency II in the Assembly.

Mr Akinniyi Sunday was suspended based on the submission of a report of an ad hoc disciplinary committee of the House, over accusations against the lawmaker including violent conduct against other members, absenteeism, sleeping on duty, gross abuse of office, anti-party activities, and engaging in activities capable of bringing down the dignity of the House.

5. Abba Kyari and Oyo-Ita clash again over three female permanent secretaries

The Chief of Staff to the President, Mr. Abba Kyari and the Head of Service, Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita, are currently involved in a fresh disagreement over the disengagement of three career permanent secretaries from the public service Vanguard Reports.

According to the news platform, the permanent secretaries have been left at home in the past three years even though they are being paid salaries by the government.

6. Justice Danladi Umar remains CCT Chairman

The Code of Conduct Tribunal CCT has clarified that Justice Danladi Yakubu Umar remains its chairman in the prosecution of public officers who contravene asset declaration laws in the country as mandated by the federal government and the country’s constitution.

The Head of Press and Public Relations of the tribunal, Malam Ibraheem Alhassan made the clarification following different insinuations in the social media.

7. Police arrests five more suspects in connection with Offa bank robbery

Men of the Inspector-General of police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) have arrested five more suspects in connection with the Offa bank robbery.

The five suspects were arrested within the week after the IRT stormed the South West part of the country in continuation of investigations into the robbery.

8. Shehu Sani calls on Buhari to apologize to Ken Saro-Wiwa and Yaradua

Senator Shehu Sani has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to apologize to the families of Ken Saro-Wiwa and Gen Shehu Musa Yar’adua.

The Kaduna senator gave the advice sequel to the president’s apology to the MKO Abiola’s family.

9. Russia overpowers Saudi Arabia in World cup opener

The Russian national team, powered onto victory in front of their home fans and watching President in the opening match of the 2018 World cup.

They defeated Saudi Arabia by five goals to nil.

10. Real Madrid unveils Lopetegui as new coach

Real Madrid have unveiled former Spanish national team coach, Julen Lopetegui as their new coach at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium on Thursday.

Lopetegui who was supposed to lead Spain to the 2018 World Cup, takes over from Zinedine Zidane who quit the position at the end of last season.
