Senate Gives MDAs One-Week Ultimatum To Submit Budget Proposals

The Senate ordered the Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDA) one-week ultimatum to submit details of their 2018 budget proposals or risk sanctions.

The Upper House gave the directive after Senate Leader, Ahmed Lawan, raised a point of order telling the Senate that out of 64 government agencies, only one has submitted details of its 2018 budget proposal.

The Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, reacted expressing his disappointment that irrespective of efforts by the President Muhammadu Buhari’s aide on National Assembly matters, agencies have failed to submit their 2018 budget details to Parliament.
