Court Sentences Man To 5 Strokes Of Cane For Shouting Allah Infront of A Barrack

A Kubwa Grade 1 Area Court in Abuja has today, Friday sentenced one Saidu Adamu ‎to five strokes of cane for criminal trespass.

The accused had pleaded guilty to the one count charge of criminal trespass.

Adamu revealed to the court that while he was at the gate of the premises he trespassed into, he shouted the name of `Allah’ and the gate opened wide for him to go in.

The Prosecutor, Babajide Olanipekun, had informed the court that ASP Ekennebe‎ Friemeya of MD Abubakar Barracks, Deidei, Abuja, reported the issue at the Kubwa Police Station on January 21.

He stated that Adamu criminally trespassed into the camp at the said barracks and stayed there with the plot to commit an offence.

The judge, Mohammed Marafa, cautioned Adamu to be of good behaviour and avoid committing crime.
