Anambra Election: Ojukwu’s son dumps APGA for APC

Ahead of the upcoming November 18, Anambra gubernatorial election, Emeka Ojukwu, the first son of the late Biafra warlord, Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu, on Wednesday, defected to All Progressives Congress, APC, in the State.

Ojukwu announced his defection at the APC mega rally held in Awka, the state capital.

Naija News gathered that Ojukwu said he has handed over the Igbo spirit of victory to Tony Nwoye, the governorship candidate of the APC.

“It is time to leave the shadows for light. Every now and then, they come out with my father’s shadow to confuse the people.

“Mr President, I am proud to stand here today in support of you and in solidarity with the APC and our candidate, Tony Nwoye,”‎ he said.

The rally was well attended by President Muhammadu Buhari and other APC chieftains like Governors Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto, Godwin Obaseki of Edo, Rochas Okorocha of Imo, Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo, Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun, Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo and host of others.

Ojukwu, at the rally, promised to do all within his power to ensure the victory of Nwoye at the polls on Saturday.
