2023: Boss Mustapha Emerges On List Of Recommendations To Become Tinubu's Running Mate

-President Buhari appoints Babachir Lawal’s first cousin as his replacement.

-This has been described as a continuation of nepotism and insolence by a former lawmaker.

New SGF, Boss Mustapha is actually sacked SGF, Babachir Lawal’s first cousin according to a shocking revelation by Dr. Junaid Mohammed.

A former House of Representative member during Nigeria’s second republic, Dr. Junaid Mohammed has made a shocking revelation about Boss Mustapha,  the newly appointment Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

Following the sack of Babachir Lawal on Monday, President Muhammadu Buhari, appointed Boss Mustapha to replace Lawal as the SGF.

However, Junaid, a former lawmaker, claims the new SGF, Mustapha is actually, Babachir Lawal’s first cousin.

He told Punch: “Before you begin to celebrate the appointment of Boss Mustapha as the new SGF, do you know that he is in fact, Babachir Lawal’s first cousin?

“This is a continuation of the cronyism and nepotism the Buhari-led administration has become infamous for.”

Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress, APC, speaking through its national publicity secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, has commended the step taken by President Buhari in sacking both Babachir Lawal and Ayo Oke.

“Few days ago, when the President directed the dismissal of Abdulrasheed Maina, some people said that was right but what about the suspended SGF, BD Lawal? But we as a party said look, the President is the only person who has all the information. All of us can only have one side of the story or the other.

“But the President by the virtue of the position he occupies is the only one who has all the information and he would do what is necessary at the right time, now we have been vindicated and it shows that the President has not in any way waived his commitment not to tolerate corruption at any level no matter who is involved.” He said.

But in their reaction, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, condemned Buhari’s action, faulting the procedure in dealing with allegations against the two former officials and calling for the national assembly to initiate an impeachment process against President Buhari for breach of oath of office.
