Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara state, has approved the promotion of 1,578 civil servants across all ministries in the state.

This was disclosed by the chairman of the state civil service commission, Salman Adelodun, in an interview with journalists.

According to him, the government will commence the release of promotion letters to the affected officers as from tomorrow.

Mr. Adelodun revealed that 1,688 civil servants registered for the promotion exercise, but 1,578 were successful in both the written examination and oral interview conducted.

The chairman also used the opportunity to assure civil servants in the state that government would continue to motivate the civil servants through promotion and improved welfare, describing them as the engine room of the government.

He explained that government does not have any outstanding case as regards the promotion of civil servants from grade levels seven to seventeen across all ministries in the state despite the current economic challenges in the country.

The promotion would take effect from January this year while the payments would start from next month, Adelodun added.
