The Adamawa State government today ordered principals of girls secondary schools in the state to disallow visitors from accessing school premises.

This was made known today by the Adamawa State Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development, Aliyu Tola, while briefing journalist on the list of activities outlined by the ministry to celebrate the international women’s day in the state.

According to Tola, the decision was taken by the state government in a bid to curb and totally avert the abduction of girls from schools in the state.

He said after the Dapchi school girls were abducted, the state government called all principals in the state, took statistics of all the girls only secondary schools in the state and where they were located . They were then asked to control movements around the schools and prevent strangers from having access into the school premises.

“The state government has already taken a decisive action since the Dapchi school girls abduction and part of the measures taken apart from the security measures put in place is to know where all the girls schools are located and to ensure that visitors are not allowed entry into those schools.”
