As the federal government battles to convince members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, (ASUU) to put an end to their lingering strike action, another strike action is brewing on the horizon as other unions in the public higher institutions have announced their intention to commence their strike by Monday, September 11.

Betrayal: Buhari’s minister endorses Atiku as next president in 2019
Minister of Women Affairs Aisha AlHassan, popularly known as ‘Mama Taraba’, has openly endorsed former vice president, Abubakar Atiku’s Presidential plan ahead of 2019 elections.
Making the endorsement in Hausa, Senator Alhassan, a member of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), under President Muhammadu Buhari, led a delegation to All Progresives Congress (APC) chieftain, Atiku’s home during the Sallah holiday.

Fayose reacts to Nigeria out of recession report, FEC meeting cancellation
The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose has claimed that the report that Nigeria was out of economic recession was untrue.
Fayose, in a press statement released by his spokesperson, Lere Olayinka, on Wednesday, said the statistics upon which the claim was based is meaningless to Nigerians.

Buhari won’t seek re-election in 2019 – Minister
Minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Alhassan who is popularly called ‘Mama Taraba’ , has again declared her intention to fully support former Vice President Atiku Abubakar if he decides to contest the 2019 presidential election.
The minister also stated she is not afraid of been sacked from the cabinet by President Muhammadu Buhari over her open support for Atiku.

Full list of successful candidates for the 69 regular course of the NDA
The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has on Wednesday, released names of successful candidates that appeared before the Armed Forces Selection Review Board held from July 8 to August 26, 2017.
The list includes names of successful candidates from all states of the federation.
NDA however, stated that those whose names appeared on the reserve list are not expected to appear until invited.
