Universal Pictures To Shoot Movie About Prince Music

Universal Pictures has been reported to be developing an original musical film around number of classic songs from the late Prince’s catalog.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Universal is looking to develop an original film that uses Prince songs as signposts, and this will be shepherded by Mike Knobloch, while Universal vp production Sara Scott and creative executive Mika Pryce will oversee the film’s development.

The project will follow the 2016 death of the legendary singer-performer, who sold more than 100 million records worldwide and won eight Grammy Awards, six American Music Awards, a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award for Purple Rain.

Naija News recalls Prince was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.
