Two Shattered People Cannot Come Together And Make A Home – Chigul Opens Up On Failed Marriage

Comedian and actress Chioma Omeruah, popularly known as Chigul, has shared how the end of her marriage changed the way she now views relationships.

Naija News reports that she said the experience taught her that healing, self-awareness and personal growth are necessary before anyone commits to a serious relationship.

The entertainer spoke about her journey during an episode of the Transparent podcast, where she reflected on life after her divorce.

She discussed emotional recovery, lessons she has learned over the years and how those experiences have shaped her understanding of love and marriage.

Chigul, who recently celebrated her 50th birthday, said she feels happy, fulfilled and youthful despite the expectations many people place on age, marriage and being single.

She also spoke about the negative attitude often directed at divorced women and the pressure society places on people to marry within a certain period of their lives.

The Theodore said people should take time to heal from emotional wounds before entering another relationship because unresolved pain can affect both partners.

According to her, two people who are emotionally damaged cannot build a healthy home together.

The actress explained that every individual grows up differently and carries different experiences, beliefs and values into a relationship.

Because of this, she said personal development is important, adding that people who fail to deal with their emotional struggles often end up hurting themselves and those around them.

Chigul also said marriage cannot succeed through the effort of only one person.

She said: “Two shattered people cannot come together and make a home. When we are broken, we hurt ourselves and others. Marriage is not the responsibility of one person but requires commitment, effort and emotional maturity from both partners.”
