My Finances Have Been A Mess For The Longest – Uzor Arukwe Opens Up On Struggles

Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has opened up on a difficult period in his life shortly after he got married, saying he went through major financial pressure within months of settling down.

He explained in an interview with Tope Olowoniyan that he got married in August and lost his job by November of the same year, which left him without steady income.

According to him, the loss of employment quickly affected his finances and made life unstable at that time.

Naija News reports that he also shared that during the same period, he was involved in a car accident that added more pressure to his situation.

He said the combination of job loss and the accident made his money situation worse and forced him to become very careful with spending, especially with yearly rent and family responsibilities.

“The same year that I settled down, I lost my job. I got married in August, and I lost my job in November. That happened, and my finances just went crazy,” he said.

“At that same period, I had an accident with my car. It was stupid, it was a mess. My yearly rent starts in January so when everyone is doing Detty December, and this has been happening since 2013, I’m always calculating. “I am not spending, I am not partying, I’m literally calculating stuff. My rent was due every January and when my first daughter came, school fees happened too. So, yes, my finances have been a mess for the longest. My small circle of friends know.”

The actor is married to Barbara Arukwe, and they have two daughters.
