Nollywood I’m Sorry – Ray Emordi Returns To Acting Months After Quitting For Music
Nollywood actor, Ray Emordi, has returned to acting just a few months after announcing he was leaving the movie industry to focus on music full-time.
Naija News reports that the 35-year-old actor revealed in February that he was stepping away from Nollywood to give all his attention to music, which he described as his first love.
After spending four months away from movie sets, he has now decided to resume acting, saying the break helped him regain his passion for the profession.
Emordi shared the news in a video on his YouTube channel, explaining why he changed his mind and decided to return to the screen.
The actor said his earlier decision to leave Nollywood came after years of working without enough rest. Between 2017 and the end of 2025, he appeared in about 300 productions, including feature films, television series and short films.
According to him, the heavy workload left him physically and mentally exhausted.
He said, “Nollywood, I am sorry. I stopped acting because I was tired. Imagine acting from 2017 till the end of last year, about 300 productions. Eight years without vacations. If you do something too much, you naturally become exhausted. I have only myself to blame. I took on too many movies, and I didn’t manage the workload properly.
“This time, I won’t overdo it. I will only take on enough work to satisfy me creatively without becoming physically exhausted. My general theme for acting is not to make money but to leave a positive impact. I want to leave a positive footprint in the world before I go.”
