Kano Pillars Appoints Remo Stars Ex-coach Ogunmodede Technical Adviser
The management of Kano Pillars Football Club has appointed Daniel Ogunmodede as its new Technical Adviser ahead of the 2026/2027 Nigeria Premier Football League season.
The club announced the appointment in a statement issued on Friday in Kano by its Media Director, Isma’eel Tangalashi.
Naija News understands that Ogunmodede, popularly known as “Ijaball,” will take charge of the club’s technical affairs as preparations intensify for the new campaign.
According to the statement, Ogunmodede’s appointment forms part of ongoing restructuring aimed at strengthening the club’s technical bench and improving team performance.
The club said the move was also intended to position Kano Pillars for better outings in both domestic and continental competitions.
The statement described Ogunmodede’s arrival as a major step in the club’s plan to return to top contention in the NPFL and restore its competitive edge.
Ogunmodede, a former coach of Remo Stars, replaces Muhammad Babaganaru.
Kano Pillars finished 15th last season with 48 points from 38 matches.
In other news, former Flying Eagles of Nigeria midfielder Daniel Daga has been cleared of sexual assault by Norway’s Frostating Court of Appeal, bringing an end to a legal battle that kept him out of action for nearly 11 months.
Daniel Daga, 19, is now expected to resume his career with Molde after the Norwegian club confirmed he is available for selection, pending the final written judgment.
In a statement published on Thursday, Molde said it had received the Court of Appeal’s ruling and acknowledged the difficult period experienced by everyone involved.
“We have today received information about the Court of Appeal’s ruling. This has been a demanding period for everyone involved, and we want to approach it with respect and consideration for everyone who has been affected,” CEO Vegard Storvik told the club’s official website.
Daga had previously been convicted by the Romsdal District Court, which sentenced him to six months in prison after finding him guilty of sexually assaulting a woman. The court also ordered him to pay NOK 10,000 in legal costs.
That verdict has now been overturned after the Court of Appeal acquitted the Nigerian midfielder of the charge.
Molde welcomed the decision and confirmed the teenager would be reintegrated into the squad.
