I’m Ready to Prove It In Court – Sowore Defends Calling Tinubu Criminal

Human rights activist and African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has defended his decision to describe President Bola Tinubu as a criminal, insisting that his remarks were based on what he called facts and not political rhetoric.

Speaking during an interview on Arise Television, Sowore said he was prepared to present evidence in court, maintaining that his comments were supported by issues he believes deserve legal scrutiny.

According to him, “It’s a statement of fact. If anybody has been involved in drug dealing or drug trafficking, there is no statute of limitation. Even if you are president, when your presidency is over, the law can still take its course.”

Sowore also referred to an alleged tax-related case involving Alpha Beta, claiming the matter was never properly concluded after the #EndSARS protests.

He alleged that court documents connected to the case were destroyed during the unrest, adding that he had wanted to present evidence before the court but was prevented from doing so.

He claimed that “When we were at the point of proving the case, the judge stopped my lawyer from continuing. Since then, there have been fresh attempts to arrest and harass me instead of allowing the matter to be fully heard.”

The activist further alleged that government authorities persuaded Facebook and Twitter to withdraw from his ongoing legal case because, according to him, the platforms could have provided documents related to government actions against free speech.
