ADC: What Tambuwal Discussed With Amaechi

Former Sokoto State Governor and Senator representing Sokoto South, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, on Thursday received the African Democratic Congress (ADC) vice-presidential candidate, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, describing the visit as a major step towards strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Tambuwal welcomed Amaechi and members of his delegation on Thursday, congratulating the former Rivers State governor on his emergence as the party’s vice-presidential candidate.

He expressed confidence that Amaechi’s experience in public service would contribute significantly to the ADC’s objective of providing credible leadership for the country.

According to Tambuwal, the meeting also afforded both leaders the opportunity to discuss efforts aimed at building a united and inclusive political platform capable of addressing Nigeria’s challenges and deepening democratic governance.

The former Speaker of the House of Representatives also welcomed Thursday’s judgment of the Federal High Court affirming the legitimacy of the Senator David Mark-led leadership of the ADC.

He described the ruling as a victory for the rule of law and constitutional democracy, saying it had removed the legal uncertainties surrounding the party’s leadership.

“The judgment has effectively laid to rest all legal uncertainties surrounding the party’s leadership, allowing members to devote their full attention to strengthening the ADC and presenting Nigerians with a credible alternative founded on justice, inclusion, competence and national renewal,” Tambuwal said.

Tambuwal urged members of the party to remain united and committed to its ideals, expressing optimism that collective efforts would strengthen Nigeria’s democracy and advance the aspirations of the people.

He said the party must remain focused on offering Nigerians a credible alternative anchored on justice, inclusion, competence and national renewal.
