It Had Serious Problems From The Beginning – Gozie Speaks On Failed Marriage To Njideka

Gospel singer Prince Gozie Okeke has spoken on his marriage to his former music partner and ex-wife, Princess Njideka Okeke, explaining how their relationship began and why it later ended.

Speaking during an interview with BBC Igbo, the singer said he met Njideka through a pastor after expressing his desire to marry a tall and fair woman.

Naija News understands that their relationship moved quickly, and they got married just a few months after meeting.

The couple later welcomed three children and became one of Nigeria’s most popular gospel music duos.

Their hit song Akanchawa brought them widespread recognition and earned them many admirers across the country.

Despite their success in music, Prince Gozie said their marriage faced serious problems from the early stage.

Although he chose not to reveal every detail about the issues they experienced, he said the difficulties they encountered were real and deeply affected their relationship.

According to him, only he and his former wife know the complete story behind their separation.

He appealed to Nigerians to stop spreading rumours or making assumptions about the end of their marriage, saying many of the stories circulating in public are not based on facts.

The gospel singer also disclosed that their divorce process lasted for more than six months and described it as a difficult period for both of them.

He said: “I wanted a tall, fair woman. Our marriage has problems from the begining. Only Njideka and I know the full reasons for our separation. People should stop spreading unverified stories and assumptions. Our divorce process lasted more than six months. I started my music career at the age of 35, and I am now focused on living peacefully, taking care of myself and moving forward with gratitude.”
