Full List: Teams Eliminated From 2026 World Cup So Far

At least 12 countries have been eliminated from the 2026 FIFA World Cup ahead of Saturday’s final group fixtures.

The latest teams to crash out of the tournament are Iraq, Uruguay, Saudi Arabia and New Zealand, following Friday’s round of matches.

Naija News reports that Iraq were sent packing after suffering a heavy 5-0 defeat to Senegal, who kept their qualification hopes alive with a dominant performance against the 10-man Asian side.

The victory moved Senegal to third place in Group I, leaving them with a chance of progressing to the knockout stage as one of the best third-placed teams.

Two-time world champions Uruguay also exited the tournament after a narrow 1-0 defeat to Spain.

The result ended Uruguay’s hopes of reaching the knockout stage, while Spain strengthened their position in the group.

Saudi Arabia were also eliminated despite holding Cape Verde to a goalless draw.

The result was not enough to keep the Asian side in the competition, as Cape Verde continued their impressive campaign.

New Zealand also joined the list of eliminated teams after losing 5-1 to a resurgent Belgium side.

The heavy defeat confirmed New Zealand’s exit from the tournament, as Belgium boosted their chances of advancing.

A total of 16 teams are expected to miss out on the knockout phase when the group stage is concluded.
