Tinubu Appointed Me Ambassador To Four Countries – Reno Omokri
Former presidential aide and social commentator Reno Omokri has revealed that President Bola Tinubu nominated him to serve as Nigeria’s ambassador to four countries at the same time in Central and South America.
Naija News reports that Omokri made the disclosure while responding to a follower on his Facebook page.
His response came after questions were raised on social media about his diplomatic appointment and comparisons were made with that of another nominee, Professor Mahmood Yakubu.
According to Omokri, his case is different because his assignment covers four separate countries, making the process more demanding than a regular ambassadorial posting.
He explained that each of the countries involved has its own government and president, meaning approvals must be obtained from multiple foreign authorities before the appointment can be completed.
The former presidential aide said President Tinubu selected him to represent Nigeria in four nations simultaneously, adding that the procedures connected to such a role are different from those of diplomats posted to a single country.
Omokri noted that the nature of the appointment requires engagement with four different governments, which makes the diplomatic clearance process more extensive.
He wrote: “His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, chose to nominate me as an Ambassador to serve concurrently in four countries in Central and South America. Therefore, the processes involved for me, as an envoy to four different nations with four different Presidents, differ from those of others.”
