Ycee Reveals Why He Took Break From Music

Nigerian singer Oludemilade Martin Alejo, popularly known as YCee, has explained why he stayed away from music for some years.

Naija News reports that he shared this during a recent livestream conversation with streamer Cater Efe.

He said his time away from the music industry was used to focus on himself and grow as a person.

According to him, he stepped back to better understand his life and direction, and he has now returned to music.

He said: “I have been on the mountain. I went on a journey of self-discovery. But I am back.”

YCee also spoke about his stage name “Omo Alhaji” and said it came from his father’s Muslim background, even though he does not practice the religion.

He added that his personal belief is based on love as a guiding principle in life.

Before his break, YCee was widely known in the Nigerian music scene for songs like Jagaban, Juice, and Omo Alhaji, which helped him gain popularity across the country.

In other news, Nigerian singer Michael Adebayo, popularly known as Ruger, has taken a break from music as he deals with a legal matter involving his former girlfriend.

Naija News reports that the singer’s record label, in a statement released on Thursday, explained that his absence from the music scene is linked to the ongoing issue, which has kept him away from his usual activities.
