I Am Not Ghanaian – Otedola’s Wife Clears Air On Nationality

Nigerian-British entrepreneur, Nana Otedola, wife of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, has addressed speculations about her nationality.

She dismissed claims that she is Ghanaian because of her name and appearance.

Naija News reports that she made the clarification in a viral video with her pregnant daughter, Temi.

She explained that she is proudly Nigerian, adding that her roots can be traced to Abeokuta in Ogun State.

Otedola said that while she understands the curiosity, she felt it was important to set the record straight.

She said, “To clear the room for everybody, I’m an Egba woman, and that’s the part I’ll gladly claim as a Nigerian. I am not a Ghanaian; my roots are in Abeokuta.”

Nana said the confusion may be linked to her upbringing. She explained that she grew up in different parts of Nigeria.

She added that she was born in Kaduna State and lived there for almost 20 years.

According to her, her long stay in northern Nigeria may have shaped how people see her identity.

I was born in Kaduna and lived there for almost two decades”, she said.

Although she has ties to Kaduna, she said her identity is still strongly rooted in Egba land.
