Aduda Never Invited Me To Commission Any Project In FCT – Akpabio
Senate President Godswill Akpabio has jokingly questioned former Senator representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Philip Tanimu Aduda, over what he described as the lack of project commissioning activities during the period they served together in the 8th Senate.
Naija News reports that Akpabio made the remark while speaking at the inauguration of a project in Abuja.
Reflecting on their time in the National Assembly, the Senate President recalled that Aduda was a principal officer of the Senate and represented the FCT for many years.
He said he could not remember attending any project commissioning ceremony in the territory during that period, despite Aduda’s position and influence at the time.
In a light-hearted comment directed at the former lawmaker, Akpabio said he deserved part of the blame because he never invited him to any commissioning event while they both served in the Senate.
He noted that the situation today appears different, with more infrastructure projects being completed and commissioned across the FCT.
He said: “Senator Aduda, you and I were together in the 8th Senate. How come we never attended one single commissioning or project in the FCT? You know, I have to blame you. You were part of that government. You were even a principal officer in the Senate. You never invited me to follow you to commission one single project.”
