Emir Sanusi Orders Closure Of Kano Hotel

The Emir of Kano, Malam Muhammadu Sanusi II, has directed the immediate shutdown of Stephrica Guest Palace Hotel located in Kureken Sani, Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State.

Naija News reports that the order was carried out through the Kano Emirate Council under the leadership of the Galadiman Kano, Aliyu Ibrahim Matawalle.

It came after the council received complaints from residents of the area about activities linked to the hotel.

According to the Emirate Council, several petitions were submitted by members of the community, raising concerns about how the hotel was being run.

The council reviewed the complaints before taking action.

The decision was taken as part of efforts to respond to community worries and maintain calm in the area.

Officials said the move was aimed at addressing issues raised by residents after careful consideration.

The council also instructed the hotel owner to change the use of the building into either a school or a hospital.

This, it said, would help the community by improving access to education or healthcare services.

It added that converting the property would serve long-term public interest and provide more benefits to people living in the area.

The Chairman of the Kureken Sani Community Development Association, Malam Muhammad Sabi’u Yahaya, welcomed the decision.

He said residents had earlier raised concerns over suspected movements involving minors around the facility, which led to their petition.
