One Day The Story Will Be Told – Obi Insists He Won 2023 Election
2027 Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has again maintained that he emerged victorious in the 2023 presidential election despite not being officially declared the winner.
Naija News reports that the former governor of Anambra State made the statement during an interview with broadcaster Rufai Oseni, where he spoke about his political journey and plans ahead of the next general election.
According to Obi, he remains convinced that he secured victory in the 2023 presidential contest.
The former Anambra Governor said Nigerians should not focus on the outcome that was officially announced, insisting that the true result of the election would eventually become clear through the democratic process.
Obi stated that his belief is based on his experience as a presidential candidate in the election.
He expressed confidence that a time would come when events surrounding the poll would be properly understood, and his position on the outcome would be recognised.
The former Labour Party presidential candidate also used the interview to restate his intention to participate in the next general election. He said he is presenting himself once again to Nigerians ahead of the 2027 presidential race.
He said: “Do you know that in the last election I won? Forget about the proof, they didn’t declare me. I have contested elections in Nigeria as a presidential candidate and won, leave what’s declared because one day the story will be told.
“For now, I can tell you that I’m offering myself for the general election in Nigeria. One day, the process will recognise it.”
