Forces Of Wike Stopped Amaechi From Voting For Buhari In 2015 – Oshiomhole
The lawmaker representing Edo North Senatorial District, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has dismissed claims made by former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, that he made late Muhammadu Buhari president.
He asserted that Amaechi did not vote for Buhari in 2015.
Naija News reports that Oshiomhole made the claim in an interview on The Mic On Podcast.
He claimed that Amaechi could not vote because he was “overwhelmed” by the former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
According to the lawmaker, Amaechi, who served as the Director-General of Buhari’s campaign, instructed his supporters in Rivers State to boycott the election.
He said, “Amaechi lied that he made Buhari president. Amaechi was not able to vote for Buhari in 2015 because he unwisely directed the people of Rivers State to boycott the polls, as he was overwhelmed by the forces of Wike.
“As Director-General of the campaign, he asked his people not to vote.”
Amaechi had, in an interview on Arise TV, claimed that it was he, and not Tinubu, who made Buhari president in 2015.
Meanwhile, Amaechi has reportedly agreed to be the running mate of the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar.
This was confirmed to Daily Post on Saturday by the immediate past chairman of ADC in Rivers State, Leader Sampson.
Amaechi, who contested for the ADC presidential primary election but lost to the former vice president, had prior to the primary election declared that he did not buy the ADC presidential form to later become Vice President.
Amaechi also vehemently rejected the outcome of the primary election, which some aggrieved party members alleged was rigged in favour of Atiku.
But when asked if Amaechi has accepted the vice presidential role, Mr Leader Sampson simply said, “yes.”
