Alex Ekubo Had Bad Mouth – Nancy Isime Recounts Memories At Late Actor’s Service Of Songs

Nollywood actress Nancy Isime has shared emotional memories of her late colleague Alex Ekubo during his service of songs.

Naija News reports that while paying her tribute, she described him as a lively and playful person who always knew how to make people laugh.

She said, “And one thing nobody has really mentioned here is his bad mouth. Alex had bad mouth,” recalling how he never missed a chance to tease people around him.

Nancy added that Alex always had a way of giving friends funny nicknames, saying, “He used to call me old 20 naira, the oldest. Even when I started to make money and look new, he said no, you are still old 20 naira” She noted that his jokes never stopped, no matter the situation.

Isime further described his humour as constant and fearless, adding, “Once you put a camera on his face, you must make sure he yabs you. And you can never out yab Alex. Never.” According to her, he always found a way to win every banter.

Nancy also spoke about his generous nature, saying, “He had the biggest heart. He loved to give. Even if the only thing he could give you is the meat in his food, he will give it to you,” adding that he would still joke about it afterward.

The actress reflected on his presence in Nollywood, noting that “Alex was a big part of Nollywood. He came and he dominated. His performances are something to always look forward to.” She said his impact in films made him a respected figure in the industry.

Alex Ekubo passed away at the age of 40 on May 12, 2026, after battling kidney cancer.
