Atiku Visits Dele Momodu In Abuja
A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dele Momodu, has shared that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar visited him at his residence in Abuja.
Naija News reports that Momodu disclosed on his social media page that the meeting focused on Nigeria’s progress and their shared commitment to nation-building.
He wrote: “H.E. Atiku Abubakar this afternoon met with Aare Dr. Dele Momodu at his residence in Abuja. As always, the conversation was centred on Nigeria’s progress and the shared commitment to nation-building. The work never stops.”
The meeting between Atiku Abubakar and Dele Momodu in Abuja comes amid intensified consultations within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) over a possible running mate for the 2027 presidential election.
Former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, former Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha, and former Cross River State Governor, Donald Duke, have emerged as leading contenders for the vice presidential ticket.
According to The Whistler, party sources said consultations over who will run with the ADC presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, have reached the final stage.
A source familiar with the discussions said the party is considering several factors before settling on a running mate.
“They are looking at different factors, including political strength, regional calculations and acceptability across the country,” the source said.
