Mike Bamiloye Speaks On Call For Pastor Adeboye To Protest Over Insecurity

Popular gospel film producer and founder of Mount Zion Faith Ministries, Evangelist Mike Bamiloye, has defended the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, over his remarks on Nigeria’s security challenges.

Naija News reports that Adeboye had sparked public debate after a video surfaced in which he urged the Federal Government to give service chiefs a 90-day ultimatum to eliminate terrorism or resign.

The video, originally made in November 2025, was reshared amid allegations that the cleric had supported a government or political party and called for the cancellation of a planned protest against insecurity.

Reacting in a post on his Instagram page on Wednesday, Bamiloye accused critics and bloggers of misrepresenting Adeboye’s position.

He said the RCCG leader had consistently spoken against evil in society.

“This is what he said, many Bloggers saw this, but they would project it. But he spoke against the evils,” Bamiloye wrote.

Bamiloye also dismissed expectations that Adeboye, at 84, should personally lead street protests against the government.

“And for all those who are expecting an 84-year-old man, servant of God, to lead a protest against a government, this does not make sense by virtue of his age and by the mandate of his calling,” he said.

Responding to those who cited Adeboye’s participation in a 2020 march during the administration of the late President Muhammadu Buhari, Bamiloye said the action was not a personal political stunt.

He explained that the protest followed a directive by the Christian Association of Nigeria and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria for churches to protest against insecurity.

“And for all those who said he led a protest… it was the instruction of the CAN and PFN for every church to stage a protest against insecurity of the nation and he complied and led his denomination too, just as some other churches did,” he stated.

Bamiloye said the church’s primary responsibility was to pray for peace and divine intervention in the country’s affairs.

“Our major responsibility as the Church of God is to continually pray for the peace of our nation and the intervention of God in the government,” he added.
