There’s No Difference Between Me And A Blind Person – Fuji Singer Remi Aluko Opens Up On Losing His Sight
Veteran Fuji musician Remi Aluko has revealed that he is currently unable to see due to complications from glaucoma, a condition he has been battling for several years.
Naija News reports that the singer made the revelation during a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, where he spoke about the health challenge that has affected his eyesight despite efforts to manage the illness.
According to Aluko, many people are unaware of what he has been going through because he has chosen not to allow the condition to define his daily life.
He explained that he has lived with glaucoma for years and previously underwent eye surgery in an attempt to improve his situation.
Giving an update on his health, the Fuji star said his eyesight has deteriorated to the point that he now considers himself no different from a blind person. He noted that although he can no longer see, he has learned how to take care of himself and move around independently.
He said: “I’m a glaucoma patient. I’m managing myself; I’m currently not seeing. Despite being a glaucoma patient, many people don’t know. There’s no difference between me and a blind person now, but no one knows because I don’t let my condition weigh me down.
“Thank God that I know how to take care of myself like someone who can see. I decided not to dwell on my condition because I don’t want to be depressed.”
