Wife Of Ex Army Spokesperson Dies Of Heart Attack
A former Director of the Directorate of Army Public Relations at Army Headquarters, Brigadier-General Mohammed Danjuma Yusuf (Rtd), has lost his wife, Hajiya Nana Hauwa Yusuf.
According to Daily Trust, she died in the early hours of Sunday, May 31, 2026, around 5:00 a.m. after suffering a heart attack.
Naija News understands that she was taken to the National Hospital emergency unit in Abuja, where she was confirmed dead.
The late Hajiya Hauwa had worked as Director of Advocacy, Communication and Social Mobilisation at the Primary Health Care Department of the FCT Primary Health Care Board before she retired in 2024.
She was originally from Kogi State.
According to reports, she had just marked her 62nd birthday on May 3, 2026, at her home in Abuja, where she spent time with relatives, friends, and colleagues.
Her son, Mohammed Dantala Yusuf, confirmed her passing in a statement, saying she died at the hospital despite efforts to save her.
He also said she was buried the same day at about 2:00 pm at Gudu Cemetery in Abuja, according to Islamic rites.

Naija News reports that the retired military officer was reportedly travelling to Katsina with his wife, Hajiya Amina Abubakar, and their driver, Abdullahi Sa’idu, when they were ambushed along the Marabar Musawa-Kafinsoli road in Matazu Local Government Area.
