I’m Worried About Trauma That Will Hit Oyo Pupils When They’re Released – Jerry Eze
Founder of Streams of Joy International, Jerry Eze, has reacted to the abduction of pupils and teachers from three schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, expressing deep concern over the incident and the condition of the victims.
Naija News reports that the cleric who spoke during a church service last Sunday shared how disturbed he was by the news of the attack.
He explained that the situation made him consider cancelling the Children’s Day programme in his church because of the pain and uncertainty surrounding the kidnapped pupils.
He noted that his thoughts were with parents who are still waiting for updates about their children, and he also worried about the emotional and psychological effects the experience could have on the pupils when they are eventually found.
Eze spoke about the fear and distress families may be going through and prayed for their safe return.
The cleric, who leads the online prayer movement New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD), also called for prayers for the release of the abducted pupils and teachers while urging authorities and security agencies to respond quickly and bring them back safely.
He said: “The people closest to me know I was on the brink of cancelling the Children’s Day celebration; I was on the brink of saying why does it have to hold. There is probably a mother somewhere who is on NSPPD and is saying to God, please let my children be released.
“I have two children; I don’t know how I will feel. The children are somewhere in the forest where we don’t know, without shelter. I am more worried about the trauma that will hit the children when they come out. I am praying that God will help them. It is so painful.”
