2027: Pat Utomi Backs Peter Obi’s ‘Smart Move’ Out Of ADC

Former presidential candidate, Pat Utomi, has lauded the defection of former presidential candidate, Peter Obi, from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC).

Naija News recalls that Peter Obi, a few weeks after dumping the ADC, was officially nominated as the NDC’s presidential candidate.

Peter Obi, who was formally handed the party’s flag at the recent convention, also moved to announce former Governor of Kano State and the leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, as his running mate ahead of the 2027 election.

Speaking on the development during an interview on ARISE Television, Utomi asserted that Peter Obi would have been trapped, especially with the outcome of the ADC presidential primaries.

Utomi cited presidential aspirants such as Chibuike Amaechi and Mohammed Hayatu-deen as complaining after the primaries and rejecting the outcome, stressing that it was a pretty smart move on Peter Obi’s part.

He said, “Even though we had polling that suggested Obi would defeat the other candidates within ADC, but if the main players would allow a proper process.

“Let’s be very frank, both the way the process has been managed generally across the board makes all the primary processes a complete farce.

“More or less, imposing people, so they go through these processes, as you know, make believe in a democratic process.”
