Insecurity: We’re Sorry For Ridiculing Your Tears In The Past – Cute Abiola Apologizes To Patience Jonathan

Nigerian skit maker Cute Abiola has apologised to former First Lady Patience Jonathan over how she was treated in the past when she spoke out about insecurity and kidnapping incidents in Nigeria.

Naija News reports that the entertainer shared a post on Instagram alongside a photo of the former First Lady, recalling how she often expressed emotional concern during her time in office whenever cases of kidnapping and violence were reported.

At the time, her emotional responses were widely mocked by some Nigerians on social media.

He noted that years later, with ongoing insecurity still affecting parts of the country, many people now view her past reactions differently and understand them as a reflection of concern for victims and their families rather than weakness.

In his message, he expressed regret over the way she was ridiculed in the past and thanked her for speaking up during those moments.

He also expressed sympathy for families affected by insecurity and called for comfort and peace for those going through difficult times across the country.

He wrote: “MUMMY! I just want to say we are sorry. Years ago, when you cried on national television over the pain, bloodshed, and kidnapping of innocent children,

“You felt the pain of the victims and their families. You spoke with emotion because you understood the gravity of what was happening to our nation. Today, as kidnapping and insecurity continue to affect innocent Nigerians, many now realise that their tears were not a weakness. They were humanity.

“We are sorry for the ridicule. Thank you for caring. Thank you for speaking up. And may God comfort every family affected by this tragedy and restore peace to our nation”.
