Wike’s PDP Faction Suspends Bode George, 23 Others In Lagos
A faction of the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has suspended a former Deputy National Chairman of the party, Bode George, and 23 other members over alleged anti-party activities.
Naija News reports that the suspension was announced on Friday in a statement signed by the Chairman of the party’s disciplinary committee in the state, Kayode Ogunbiyi, and the secretary, Desmond Agbo.
The faction said the decision was necessary because the party could no longer tolerate conduct that could cause disaffection among members.
According to the statement, the decision followed a meeting of the disciplinary committee held on May 26, 2026.
The committee said it reviewed petitions alleging anti-party activities and breaches of the PDP constitution against some members.
“The decision to suspend George and other erring members was contained in the resolution of the meeting held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, where various petitions were presented against certain notable personalities and other members bordering on issues of anti-party activities and deliberate infractions of the PDP Constitution,” the statement read.
The disciplinary committee also said it reviewed an earlier disciplinary action allegedly taken against George by the party’s National Executive Committee.
“The Committee also reviewed the action previously taken against former Chief Olabode George by the National Executive Committee, which suspended him from the party, and reaffirmed that he remains suspended as earlier pronounced,” it added.
Other Members Affected
Others affected by the suspension include Aduke Maina, Abimbola Ogunkelu, Laja Adeoye, Tunji Shele, Sunday Olaifa, Gbenga Adegbesan, Rita Orji, Kofoworola Bucknor and Onikepo Oshodi.
The committee said it also considered cases of members allegedly collaborating with rival political parties or engaging in unauthorised political activities that run counter to the interests of the PDP.
The faction said all suspended members would no longer participate in PDP activities in Lagos State. It added that they could no longer represent the party in any official or unofficial capacity.
The party also warned that legal action could be taken against any suspended member found acting against its interests in the state.
