I Don’t Regret My Choice – Bob Manuel Explains Why He Stays Off Social Media

Nollywood actor Bob-Manuel Udokwu has shared the reason he has kept a low profile on social media, saying he prefers to stay away from online noise and observe things quietly.

Naija News reports that in a post shared on Instagram, the actor and former lawmaker said his decision comes from how social media conversations have changed, especially in Nigeria.

He noted that many topics that trend online often have little connection to the daily struggles people face, yet they still attract heavy attention and use up time and data.

He also pointed out that online spaces are filled with constant trolling and insults, which makes the environment tiring for meaningful engagement.

Because of this, Udokwu said he found it better to stay on the sidelines and simply follow discussions without joining in most of the time.

The actor wrote: “Social media has become something else in Nigeria. Most times, things that have little or no relevance to the day-to-day struggles of the people go viral and consume valuable time and data from the same traumatised people!

“It baffles me! Too much dragging and trolling everywhere! I really don’t regret my choice to stay quiet and read from the sidelines while the job is done…… I am sure you would agree with me on this? However due to popular demand I will be more active in posting and engaging my fans from now on….. How una see am?”.
