30-year-old Decorator Hacked To Death At Event Venue In Benin
A 30-year-old decorator, Esohe Aigbe, has been hacked to death by suspected assailants in Benin City, Edo State.
Naija News understands that the incident occurred on May 27 at Ojo Street in the Ogida area of Benin City.
According to Punch, the deceased had reportedly gone to the area to assist a friend in decorating a venue for a burial ceremony when she was attacked.
A source told the aforementioned publication that Aigbe had already completed the inspection work and was still at the venue when she was attacked by assailants with a machete.
The source said, “The deceased was attacked with a machete at the venue of the burial where she went to do a decorating job. After the attack, the perpetrators left hurriedly.
”Some good Samaritans rushed to the scene and rushed her to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, where she died due to the deep matchet cut.”
When the Edo State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Eno Ikoedem, was contacted by phone, she said the command was aware of the case.
She said, “I’m aware of a murder case in the area. We already have one suspect in our custody, and the investigation is still ongoing as I speak to you.”
